Bog ConstructionAfter placing the rock across the bottom of the bog, the pea gravel comes next. This is what it looked like with 1 ton of pea gravel on top of the rock.

Bog ConstructionThis shows the bog with 4 tons of pea gravel in it. I've got the gravel scooped away from the snorkle at this point. I filled the bog with water 3 times and used my spare pump to pump the water out through the snorkle. That really helped rinse the dust off the gravel so that when we got the bog running the water wouldn't be quite so cloudy. By this time, I've trimmed about a foot of the snorkle off so that the lid will be below the surface of the bog, covered by a couple inches of gravel.

Bog ConstructionBecuase of the landscaping, I used a 10' 2x12 plank to run the wheel barrow filled with gravel up to where I could shovel it into the bog. It also came in handy when it came time to wheel the excess dirt away.

Bog ConstructionIn this one you can see the plank and one of the wheel barrows I used.
